Fan favorite Neil Patrick Harris (NPH) was the 2015 Oscar’s host last night. Following up Ellen’s Oscar Selfie last year and delivering pizza to the A-list celebs. NPH had some rather large shoes to fill.  In true NPH style, the awards show started with a musical. Accompanying him was Anna Kendrick as Cinderella and Jack Black

NPH’s was full of jokes as host, telling Octavia Spencer to watch his prediction box, and being in boxer briefs re-enacting Birdman.

With Oscar’s night brings a lot of awareness to various causes, Common and John Legend’s “Glory” performance and Patricia Arquette’s equal pay for women in the workforce. The Oscar’s also reminded us that anything can happen with the visual effects we have today but nothing can make Kevin Hart taller. The short jokes live on with Anna Kendrick this time.

Red, beige, and white seem to be the color of choice on the red carpet this year. One showstopper of course was Lady Gaga. Unfortunately her engagement ring was not to be seen as her ensemble included gloves. Her custom Alaia dress was Gaga-elegant with a nod to her upcoming nuptials. Other stunners of the night included Lupita Nyong’o in a pearl embellished custom Calvin Klein Collection dress, Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford, Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab, and Anna Kendrick in custom Thakoon. Also, we can’t forget the boys! Tim McGraw, Ansel Elgort, Chris Pratt, John Legend, and Miles Teller were just a few that turned a few heads.

Lady Gaga’s Sound of Music tribute was to say the least AMAZING. Proving once again that she can do anything she wants. If she wants to dress in crazy 10 inch heels she can. If she wants sing musicals and look elegant she can! Julie Andrews was there to tell us that 50 years ago, Sound of Music was made while reminding us the importance of music and how without music what would Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Star Wars be.

The big winners of the night included Grand Budapest Hotel, Eddie Redmayne for Best Actor, Julianne Moore for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and Best Picture Birdman beating out the anticipated American Sniper or Boyhood. There were many winners of the night whether they actually won or not. Overall, the night was great and had an extra 40 minute overrun to it. NPH told us predictions that we already knew and Anna Wintour only wears sunglasses inside.
Until next year!
