I Followed My Roommate On Her Tinder Date And Here’s What Happened

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

We’ve all heard the horror stories about Tinder dates going wrong, so it’s no wonder people can be a bit skeptical to go out on a Tinder date alone.  My roommate, hilariously so, is one of those people who can be a nervous wreck most of the time and very skeptical about actually meeting the boys on Tinder.  Solution? I went on her Tinder date with her! However, her date had absolutely no idea and it ended up being a story for the books for sure.

The day started with her freaking out about the date all day while she was getting ready and me just trying to calm her down until it was time for us to leave.  Once we were finally ready to leave, we ended up being a bit late.  To make matters worse, the weather was bad the day before and because of that the T was out of service for a few stops.  So, what started out as us being late by about five to 10 minutes turned out to be a half hour instead.  It was safe to say my roommate was freaking out the entire ride, but either way we ended up making it to the coffee place.

When we got there, she walked in and I waited a few minutes outside before I walked in, just to make sure nothing looked too suspicious.  After I walked in, I picked a seat that I could see and hear them at, ordered a hot tea, and took the time to work on some homework while I listened to their conversation (really just making sure my roommate didn’t screw up).

Luckily, he was super understanding about her being late and had even ordered a drink for her *aww*.  They ended up talking for about an hour and a half and it seemed to be going really well.  I had to text her a few times when she started to ramble and get off topic a bit, but other than that, it’s safe to say it went smoothly.

After their date, he walked her outside where they talked for a bit and then she had to “take a phone call”, which really was her cue for me to come outside with her and that he was gone.  Talking with her, she seemed really into it and from the sounds of it, he was too!  She felt a lot better and less nervous with me being around so I’m glad I could help with that.

Me? I’m just here wondering if I’m going to be invited on the second date.
