New Year’s Eve is coming up and whether you’re planning a night out or staying in to watch the ball drop, this eyeshadow look is the perfect way to add more glitter to your look. On New Year’s there is no such thing as too much. So follow along if you’re ready to sparkle!

  • Step 1: Start by priming your eyelids, cream eyeshadow works great. Then take a matte skin tone color for your base. This gives us a smooth, blendable surface to work on. If you want to make sure you have a sharp line of eyeshadow, you can add tape along the side of your eyelid.

  • Step 2: With either a creamy brown pencil eyeliner, or a dark brown eyeshadow on a pencil brush, draw a line in your crease, following the curve of your eyeball.

  • Step 3: Blend out the brown eyeliner/shadow with a fluffy brush, then blend a lighter brown as a transition shade between dark brown eyeshadow and your brow bone.

  • Step 4: On the lid pat on a gold eyeshadow with a shader brush. On top of the gold eyeshadow, take the same shader brush and pat on some gold glitter.

  • Step 5: Add some liquid liner and flick it out to a cateye, then smudge some of the dark brown you put in your crease along your lower lashline.

  • Step 6: Add some mascara and finish the look off with some lipstick. I wanted to go full out and went for a bold red and topped it off with some sparkly lipgloss, but if you want to keep the eyes the focus a nude would look just as fierce!

I loved this eyeshadow look. The glitter is perfect for New Year’s without feeling like it’s too dramatic. This eyeshadow look would look great for other special occasions as well. You can keep it bold, or tone it down depending on how you do the rest of your makeup. Have fun with it!
