Breadsong Corner Bakery: Treats and Sweets, Oh My!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

A short stroll from Lasell to downtown Aurburndale will bring you to the Breadsong Corner Bakery. Follow the smell of fresh baked breads, pastries, and desserts and you will know you have arrived.

The bakery renders a cozy, relaxed feel. Most people seem to pop in and out, but there are a few tables and chairs to eat inside. Fragrant loafs of bread line the wall and the case filled with meticulously made treats commands the shop. Everything is made from scratch each morning to ensure the freshest taste.

Besides the à la carte bakery items, Breadsong offers a variety of tasty soups, salads, and sandwiches. The sandwich options are pretty basic: Italians, Cubans, B.L.T’s, and more. They always have a soup of the day and offer a garden or caesar salad.

Although it wasn’t on the menu I asked for a chicken B.L.T with avocado and they were happy to make it for me. It came on thin multigrain bread and the maple bacon was perfectly crisp. The combination of flavors was spot on and who can say no to avocado?

The soup and coffee are set up in stations for the guests to help-themselves. There were two soup options to choose from and I went with the chicken veggie. The soup was lacking in flavor, but I could tell it was made in-house.  They also have a lunch special which includes a half sandwich or half salad and a cup of soup for $7.50.

One of the friendly staff members told me some of the most popular items are the croissants and sticky buns. The almond croissants had been beckoning me since I walked in so once he mentioned they were popular I couldn’t say no…and he was right. The croissant was light, flaky, and perfectly buttery — the almonds made it even better.

Whether you are in the mood for a sandwich that will do you no wrong or it’s your friend’s birthday and you’d like to surprise them with a charming treat, Breadsong Corner Bakery will satisfy your needs.

I spent $16 dollars for a sandwich, soup, Nantucket Nectar, and an iced coffee.
