How quickly did April go? It will be Christmas again before we know it. But, lets appreciate the now, May is finally here which means it is officially British Summer time (and the start of the dreaded third year exams *silently panics*). We can start looking forward to warmer weather, sunnies and holidays! I get excited just thinking about it all (YAY!)

In the transition to spring/summer, I have been loving a fake tan which i only recently discovered. Now, people who know me, know that I love a good fake tan and this usually comes in the form of Bondi Sands Dark Tan Mousse (it is still an all time fave!).

A spontaneous trip to see the girls for a night out (which we do not do enough!) called for my trusty Bondi Sands. However, I had just finished an 8 hour shift at work (on a Saturday, ikr) and I was so pale I was basically transparent, so i needed some fake Australian Bondi sun in my life. I rushed home to put that heavenly mousse all over my ghostly body and when I pressed the pump the most pathetic little squirt came out of the nozzle, well that was it. I’d had the day from hell and this was the last straw, I wasn’t going!

But after my amazing boyfriend had managed to convince me it wasn’t the end of the world and I could buy some more (even if it was 8pm and no Boots or Superdrug was open) I stopped being a drama queen and dragged myself to Asda, where I discovered my NEW FAVE: Rimmel London Sunshimmer Self-Tan Mousee in Matte Dark £8 (its on offer at Superdrug for £5.29!!)

This fake tan is amazing, it is a lightweight velvety formula which dries in literally 2 mins (I can honestly say this – I put it on at 9pm and left the house at half past). I would not recommend doing this but it was good enough for me as my fake tan did look good. My body felt smooth and moisturized the whole night and I got loads of compliments about my sun-kissed look and it even looked amazing when I showered it off (like you’re supposed to, oops).

The only negative thing would be the smell, whereas Bondi Sands smells like gorgeous coconuts this one has the typical self-tanner scent, but at that price I am not going to complain.

Considering I have been crazy busy the last couple of months with trying to balance uni work, a part-time job and a social life as well as that important thing called sleep, my hair has been one hot mess. I have not had it cut in months (I am too scared to after they cut it so short last time) so it is getting to that point were it is just too long, too thick and just completely out of control. What makes matters worse is that I just do not have the time or energy to sort it out. This is where the Batiste Dry Shampoo has changed my life.

I never really cared too much for dry shampoo as I know it can be really bad for your hair health when used too much. However, i have found that using it in small doses, maybe once or twice a week has really made a difference on those days where my hair has been flat, feeling a little on the greasy side or just simply wasn’t cooperating. I love the tropical scented one, especially at this time of year as every spray brings back memories of lying on a beach somewhere. Plus, you can’t go wrong at £2.99.

As it gets to the warmer months my skin becomes very oily and I find that my make up starts to slide around my face (not cute!). I found this powder some time last year and to be honest I have not used anything else since. I’ve only had to repurchase this twice as a small amount of product goes a long way. To apply it, I use the Look Good Feel Better Mini Powder Brush. I dust the product all over my base and concealer to set it all in place for the day.

There are many perks to using this powder, one being the fact that it is as cheap as chips at £2.99, it is Collection and as we all know in the UK it is one of the cheaper, low end beauty brands. Have you ever tried their lasting perfection concealer? it is amazing.

Secondly, it contains Witch Hazel!! When my skin is oily I break out none stop therefore, having a powder that stops the shine whilst also not being so cakey makes for one happy gal!

There you have it, my top 3 beauty products for spring/summer that do not break the bank (result!).
