Cinco ‘Feliz Navidad’ Covers That Will ‘Fiesta-fy’ Your Christmas Playlist!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lancaster chapter.

1. Ok, so let’s start with what we know. Anyone who hasn’t heard Michael Bublé’s cover, well – I’m just so glad we’re putting that to bed right now. This live cover is particularly sweet as he and Thalia get some of the audience to join in while Bublé reminds us of his usual singing-isms on the side.

2. I had a bit of a summer love affair with Glee a few years ago, and even if you don’t like or watch Glee, their zest for putting on a show is super infectious. They did exactly that with Feliz Navidad! It’s just such a shame we can’t watch them dance to the *whole* song.

3. If you like world records, you’ll like this, since it seems they tried to set one with the amount of instruments they manage to squeeze in. It has a hint of Madness once the song really kicks in, and while I have no idea what they’re saying in Moldovan/Romanian for a good half minute while some scantily clad girls pose on a sofa, we promptly return to the festive, ear-sy goodness and forget it ever happened. It is Christmas, after all!

4. You’d be forgiven for thinking this was a Jason Mraz cover, while it’s actually a self-proclaimed ‘twist’ on the classic number. They also have a beautiful backdrop that might inspire some invierno interiors! I love this cover because it keeps the original song from swaying too much from the obvious religious roots of Christmas. You’ll see (and love) what I mean.

5. Walk Off The Earth did the most amazing cover of Feliz Navidad and I re-share it every year. I think the fact that they all play the SAME guitar sold it to me, but their harmonies are fantástico and the way they drag ‘heart’ up at the end of the chorus – just watch it. You’ll darme las gracias later.

6. I lied. Here’s a sixth – we couldn’t not give credit to the man who made it happen! Look – and love – how happy he is singing what would later become a world classic. Turns out as well that he and I are emotionally tied to another magical date in the calendar other than Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve – sí, we are birthday twins! Oh, el mundo hispanohablante, how I love you so… ¡Feliz Navidad!
