Hey guys!
My name is Mulan Novilla, and I am Her Campus La Verne’s new president! I’ve been in Her Campus since freshman year, and this year Flora asked me to take over! I learned about Her Campus on Pinterest the summer before I actually started college at La Verne. I was looking for dorm ideas and college hacks, and I noticed that Her Campus was an account that posted a lot of really neat stuff. When I attended ULV’s club fair, I saw a Her Campus booth and immediately signed up.
I am a second-year junior Communications major with an emphasis in Public Relations. That sounds kind of weird, but it just means that I’m graduating a year early because I have a lot of credits from the AP classes I took in high school. I was on the Speech & Debate team all four years, which led me to decide to choose Communications because I like writing and presenting messages to an audience (and I also like graphic design and event planning).
I was born in the Philippines and moved here when I was almost 5 years old. I currently reside in Harbor City, a small town in the South Bay area. I love where I live because of the diverse neighborhoods that surround me (and the delicious variety of food). I live with my mom, my dad and my 11 year-old sister.
I love to travel to new places with my family and friends. Out of state, I’ve traveled to the Philippines, Cancun, Hawai’i, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
I’m definitely a huge foodie and I love trying new, hipster places to take pictures. I usually drag my friends along, and we have so much fun together!
I especially love dessert places and cute cafes, but I don’t really like coffee…I miss out on drinking the cute lattes and just end up taking photos of them.
I also have a website called Foodie Fridays, which features reviews of some food places that I’ve gone to. It’s not updated, but the aesthetic is really cute!
