Best Movies to Watch on Valentines Day!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

Whether you’re spending the day with your date, the girls, or yourself, these movies will definitely top your Valentine’s Day off right!

1.     The Proposal

Looking for that cheesy, yet oh so good Rom-Com? Well Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds make a hilarious couple in The Proposal. It’s set in beautiful Alaska with a hilarious family, an immigration official, and a forest dance like no other!

Need I say more?

2.     How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

Another Rom-Com to cozy up with!

Kate Hudson’s character is an advice columnist looking to write about how to get a man to break off the relationship in ten days. While Matthew McConaughey’s character is so confident in his romantic abilities that he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days. Their plans fail miserably (and hilariously for our viewing pleasure) when they seek each other out to fulfill their tasks.

3.     10 Things I Hate about You

This classic movie hosts the best cast with the late (and gorgeous) Heath Ledger.  This modern retelling of a Shakespearian play is about a sister who can’t date until her older sister starts dating. Low and behold, strings are pulled to get the oldest sister a romantic life, and the rest is history!

4.     P.S I Love You

If you are looking to cry a little during this Valentine’s Day then look no further! P.S I Love You follows a recent widows (Hilary Swank) journey to heal from the loss of her husband (Gerard Butler), WITH her husbands help.

Grab your tissues, and know that after the movies done, you will be dying to find a guy just like Gerry!

P.S

If you fancy (obsess over) Irish accents then you definitely will not be disappointed.

5.     Longest Ride

FINALLY, if none of the above piques your interest, then this movie is sure to give you a Nicholas Sparks fix.

The Longest Ride follows two beautiful love stories from different perspectives; one in the past and one in the present.  Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood have an amazing connection on screen and will leave you wanting more!

Plus I mean did I mention Scott Eastwood??
