Back to School Essentials 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

With school starting here are my top 7 school essentials to keep your school life sane and your mind at ease – for all days of the week! (even weekends because homework)

Hats are a cute accessory to throw over with any outfit: a dress, t shirt, even over unwashed hair (LOL we’ve all been there)!

A thing I learned in college is: I can not be looking like death all the time. Yes, a t-shirt and jeans are ideal for comfort but not for professionalism. Having a well balanced outfit is important to anyone’s wardrobe. So, keep a pair of flats to throw over your t shirt and jeans! Slippers just won’t do!

Water water water. Yes, I said it THREE times for emphasis. Don’t be dehydrated in class! Especially with the warm weather blazing over us, we as humans need water. Carry a water bottle to hydrate your skin, body, and keep yourself well-nourished. You can also re-fill your water bottle at a drinking fountain or at the school’s Barb’s!

Being a commuter, I admit to running out of my house looking like a slob. Carry a compact hair brush + mirror to clean off those tangled strands of hair and check up. You can buy this at Target at the dollar section.

One word: peace. I carry earphones in my school bag for a reason: to drown out noise and my surroundings. School life can be stressful at times and coming to peace can be achieved through the soothing sound of your music playlist.

Hydrate. Your skin is so important. There is no excuse for the feeling of dry skin when you can munch of hotel rooms free compact lotion bottles.

Remember California is a desert: hot during the day and cold at night – meaning we need to be ready for the cold nights! Carry a sweater for convenience at all times.

That’s it for the school essentials! Good luck and stay sane my friends.
