6 Easy Last Minute Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

Uh oh – Halloween is tomorrow. While some people have had the perfect Halloween costume planned for months, some of us have fallen victim to procrastination. Don’t panic; we’ve got you covered.

We have found some cute and inexpensive last minute Halloween costumes you can put together with things you already have, or things you can make!

Scarecrow

Put on a flannel shirt, light washed jeans and a straw hat to transform into a sweet scarecrow. Use a black eyeliner to draw stitches along the outsides of your mouth and top of your nose. Dust your cheeks with a bright orange color and a vibrant lipstick and the look is complete!

Black Swan

Who didn’t love Natalie Portman’s dramatic Swan Lake costume in the movie “The Black Swan?” Channel your inner ballerina with the perfect mix of evil and seductive. Wear a black tutu over a black fitted tube top or corset. Hot glue feathers and jewels to add detail to the top. Pull your hair up into a tight bun and put on a bejeweled tiara. Apply a foundation two shades lighter than your original skin color for a stark-white, pale face. Finish off with a berry lip and dramatic smoky eye. Slide on a pair of ballet flats, and you’re all set!

Rosie the Riveter

Embrace your inner “girl power” and rock this classic look. All you need a denim button up shirt and a red bandana. Roll up your sleeves to perfect Rosie’s tough girl look. Grab the red bandana, put your hair up and tie the bandana in the middle section of your hair. For makeup, a bold red lip is essential. Add a bit of winged eyeliner to the top of your lids and you’re good to go!

Regina George

Want to have the most fetch costume at the party? There’s no better way than being Regina George for the night. You may not have army pants and flip-flops, but you probably have a plain white tank and a black mini skirt lying in your closet. Cut two holes in the chest area of a white tank top. Put on a bright purple bra and throw on the tank top over that. Slide on a black skirt and some pumps for the ultimate “Mean Girls” look.

Risky Business

Throw on an oversized dress shirt, socks, some shades and crank up the stereo. To pull off this iconic Tom Cruise costume, you don’t need much else. Seriously, you don’t even need pants!

Audrey Hepburn

Just about every girl has a little black dress. You can’t go wrong with Audrey Hepburn’s character in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Add a tiara, long black gloves, a chunky pearl necklace, a long cigarette and you have the timeless Holly Golightly costume.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
