Madelyn Jenkins is double-majoring in psychology and philosophy, and came to the KU from Chicago, Illinois. While she loves Kansas, Madelyn misses being able to talk to her mom at any time of the day, but she keeps herself plenty busy between her two favorite hobbies: reading and napping. Madelyn is also a MAJOR Taylor Swift fan, and enjoys both the voice and looks of Jon Bellion, eating any kind of pizza (really, any kind of pizza, she assured me), and participating in theater and drama.

When asked about her favorite thing about the upcoming season of fall, she replied, “This is cliche, but I love pumpkin spiced lattes, and when the leaves fall.” Madelyn also used the word cliche when describing her passions in life, but with her desire to learn about others through her majors, I believe in her heartfelt message of aspirations to help others and spread compassion.

What you wouldn’t expect from the 5’1 girl is that she has two secret talents: she is a pogo stick champ, and can perform a breakdance move she calls “the baby freeze” (balancing her shoulder and head on the ground and legs in the air) in a matter of seconds. Overall, Madelyn is the perfect amount of sharp-wit, sass, and style.

Madeleine is a senior at the University of Kansas double majoring in Creative Writing and Journalism. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Madeleine spent the last few years of her high school career publishing two books (http://www.lulu.com/shop/m-rheinheimer/project-105/paperback/product-23264977.html + http://www.lulu.com/shop/madeleine-rheinheimer/undefined/paperback/product-22938535.html)  and traveling around the city speaking and sharing with locals. Knowing since the fourth grade that she was destined to be a writer when she grew up, Madeleine enjoys anything that involves creative expression. You can follow her personal blog at: https://illiterateblondes.com
