1. Expectation: getting to shop for all your furniture and decorating like a magazine cover
Reality: having a futon and a TV because that’s all you can afford
2. Expectation: having gourmet meals everyday that you can cook yourself in your kitchen
Reality: being either too tired or too lazy to cook so you just order pizza
3. Expectation: excited that you get to drive to campus instead of taking the bus
Reality: still taking the bus because you’re too afraid you’ll lose your parking spot
4. Expectation: getting up early to make a Starbucks run
Reality: getting up late and missing your class
5. Expectation: Bonding with your roommate
Reality: Bonding with your roommate’s boyfriend… over breakfast
6.Expectation: thinking you’ll have time to do your laundry every week
Reality: wearing the Norts you slept in to class because everything is dirty
7. Expectation: hosting parties all the time
Reality: never inviting anyone over because you’re embarrassed
8. Expectation: you’ll go to sleep at a decent hour every night because it’s quiet
Reality: guy downstairs is having a rager for no reason
9. Expectation: having all the privacy you could ever want
Reality: having to keep your shades closed because frat brothers are across the street looking at you through the window.
10. Expectation: thinking that living off campus is the going to be the best thing ever
Reality: crying because you miss the dorms
