As the school year draws to a close, I’ve observed a few trends found around my campus and city. The list ranges from the good, the bad, and the ugly, but with each passing year, a new set of trends will find its way to college life.

White “Superstar” Adidas: these may slightly resemble clown shoes, but they also go perfectly with any outfit.

XL T-Shirt and short athletic shorts (aka the “am I wearing pants today lol” look): I don’t understand this look, and it also annoys me. However I’ve heard that it’s comfortable, so you got to do what you got to do.

Jean Skirts

“Love Your Melon” beanies

“Fjallraven Kanken” backpack: These square backpacks are super stylish and colorful, and decorate the campus year round.

Chokers

Designated “going out” shoes (usually white converse that soon turn gray)

Bodysuits: Even though these are uncomfortable, they look super cute with jeans and skirts and always stay in place.

Kendra Scott necklaces

Overalls

Hoop Earrings: These are making a comeback, and can be both casual and formal.

Apple Watches

Fuzzy Sandal Slippers: one of the most outrageous trends of the year, I have seen these slippers even worn to class… how does one walk with two hamsters on their feet?

Scrunchies

RedBubble Stickers: can be found on laptops, water bottles, or notebooks

HyrdroFlasks: These big and bulky tin water bottles supposedly keep liquids very hot or very cold, so that’s one pro to the heavy weight you have to lug around campus.

The color yellow: A increasing trend- anything yellow! Light yellow, dark yellow, a combination of yellows, anything goes!

NASA shirts: Not sure where this trend originated, but I’ve seen this logo plastered everywhere, in both the men and women fashion industry.

Bar Necklaces
