DIY: Tea Cup Candles
Supplies:
- tea cup(s) (any you think are cute!)
- a large candle of your favorite scent/color
- wicks (you can get these at any craft store like Hobby Lobby)
- double boiler (or two pots)
Step 1: Put one or two inches of water in a pot and boil it.
Step 2: Start cutting up the candle into small chunks. The smaller the quicker it is to melt! We put a pot of boiling water on the stove so we could heat the knife, which makes it easier to cut into the wax (careful not to get the wax everywhere–it’s a pain to clean up)!
Step 3: In the meantime, grab a writing utensil (Sharpie or pencil) and tape the wick to it so that it is centered in the tea cup.
Step 4: Wait for the wax to melt.
Step 5: Take the pot and pour the wax carefully into the tea cup, making sure to center the wick!
Step 5: Let it cool and untape the wick. Voilà!
