Spring Has Sprung!

By Kelly McPharlin
March 25, 2012 - 1:50pm

Summer-like weather has hit Gambier early this year—and while it may confirm our worst fears that the ice is melting and polar bears are dying, the bright tulips along Middle Path make walking to your 8:10 MWF actually enjoyable. My past two springs at Kenyon (I missed last spring because I was abroad) have included some of my best “this-is-so-Kenyon” memories, so I have compiled a list of why spring at Kenyon is where it’s at.

1. Peirce Lawn becomes the new library/student center/dining hall.

It's Spring Break, and you know what that means: it's time to stop crying to Adele while you write your Sociology paper and time to start cranking up the party jams. No matter where you're headed, these anthems will get you in the zone. READ MORE

Have Contiki, Will Travel - Win the Trip of a Lifetime!

By Ameara Harb
February 14, 2012 - 10:48am

It’s safe to say that for most of us at Kenyon, studying abroad is part of our college plan. But even with a study abroad plan in the works (or behind you), when Spring begins to peak through the clouds, the travel itch starts, and dreaming about an epic Euro-trip or an Australian adventure becomes a daily distraction when struggling through our oh-so-boring lectures. But planning a trip abroad can be scary, time consuming, and let's not forget--super expensive. Lucky for us, Her Campus has partnered with Contiki, the #1 travel company for young people, offering over 200 guided tours and pre-planned trips in 40+ countries, exclusively for 18-35-year-olds—all for amazingly low prices!...

Feisty in February

February 12, 2012 - 1:40pm

Wakey wakey, Kenyon ladiez! KCSL here. I’ve barely recovered from my mortifying Peirce experience a few weeks back, but I had to write in to warn you: it’s here. Somehow we all manage to forget it exists until we wake up one morning and roll over, groaning as we take in the bright, harsh numbers on our alarm clock and we see that it’s...February. READ MORE

American Kenyon Story

By Caroline Black
February 4, 2012 - 2:50pm

So there are two major events in American culture happening soon: 1) the Super Bowl, and 2) Valentine's Day. The seasonally festive side of me dictates that I should heat up some queso dip in a bread bowl and/or watch The Bachelor. There's one problem, though. I can't stop watching American Horror Story. I am not a horror person. I haven't seen even the most mainstream horror movies—I got to the typewriter scene in The Shining before I made my friend turn it off.  READ MORE
