After spending nearly two months in Copenhagen I think I’ve gotten a pretty good sense for the dos and don’ts of Danish Style. Whether you plan on visiting Denmark in the near future (or any other Scandinavian or Northern European country—I’ve found that the “rules” generalize pretty well) or just want to import some Scandinavian chic to the streets (paths) of Gambier, here are some examples of quintessential Danish dress! Do’s… Ballerina Bun 2.0 READ MORE |

Who hasn’t mocked the glossy pages, wondering how in the hell did this get published and if the editors or writers actually tried those 50 things to do without your hands (if you know what we mean)? Lie #1: Cosmo is a girl’s Bible. READ MORE |

3 Fresh and Upcoming Artists Who Should Be On Your RadarBy February 25, 2013 - 5:11pm To me, music adds meaning to life through the lyrics and beats that artists create. Without it life is dull and soulless. The beats blasting through my speakers are what give my heart that extra push to get through the rough days. As extreme as it sounds, the music that artists create brings a whole new kind of life to the table. The bass acts as a second heartbeat. The guitar’s strings pull at your emotions. The lyrics mirror your thoughts. You might be able to tell by now that finding new music and new artists is a hobby of mine. Therefore, it is my time to show as many other people as I can about a few of my favorite artists I have found within the past few years. READ... |

Valentine's Day for the Feminine FeministBy February 13, 2013 - 6:00pm Recently, my women and gender studies professor (the wonderful Professor Murnen) gave my intro class an interesting assignment: choose a “gendered product” (a product used more often, or exclusively by, a particular gender) study its use and marketing, and question whether it upholds particular gender norms. My group chose to examine the PINK line of underwear at Victoria’s Secret, which appears to be marketed at consumers as young as 11 (although it’s officially their “college” line). READ MORE |

Valentines Day: A Holiday to HateBy February 8, 2013 - 9:00am I hate Valentines Day. I often manage to find myself single or trying to shamelessly scare off my boyfriend in fear of spending a Valentines Day with someone. I don’t really like red roses. In fact, I much prefer white tulips. And to be quite honest, I hate the assorted chocolate hearts because I always just want to spit out the disgusting unknown substance inside. Oversized teddy bears have always given me the creeps and I have always preferred action movies to Romantic comedies. READ MORE |
