HCK's Spring Lipstick Guide

By Emily Sakamoto
April 2, 2013 - 3:20pm

Merry Spring ladies! It’s a lovely time of sunshine and fresh flowers. There are gentle reminders that school is coming to an end and margaritas on pool chairs and lazy days and summer shenanigans loom on the horizon. In the midst, we can often lose ourselves in a sort of transition mode – who hasn’t fallen prey to dry winter skin or the dull repetition of an overused wardrobe that needed to be spiced up all the way back when we idolized Posh Spice? We can’t all afford Dior Couture, but we can still have a taste of that haute level of luxury. So, why not inject some of that pigmented instant elegance into your daily life vis-a-vis the smaller splurge of a beautifully colored, not to mention packaged lipstick?...

By Rachel Larson

From performing to creating, Beth Hyland is a woman of the stage. Most of you know her as a member of the Owl Creeks, otherwise known as the a cappella queens. More recently, StageFemmes produced Post Grad, a musical that Beth wrote. The show sold-out and made the audience both laugh and cry, with its quick wit, pop-culture references, and honesty. Celebrity Slumber Party, Edition 3: The Mother Lode

Moms-- can’t live without ‘em. Literally, at this point in time we humans have not evolved a way to be alive without the awkward living-inside-another-human period. Besides being fetus vessels, according to the media and my limited heteronormative experiences (yes, watch me be politically correct), mothers function as meaningful, cushy yet supportive springboards. Whether you plan on visiting Denmark in the near future (or any other Scandinavian or Northern European country—I’ve found that the “rules” generalize pretty well) or just want to import some Scandinavian chic to the streets (paths) of Gambier, here are some examples of quintessential Danish dress! 8 Lies Cosmo Told Me

By Emily Sakamoto
March 27, 2013 - 12:43am

Hasn't every girl sat down, at least once, with a copy of the famed sex-crazed magazine and been shocked, disgusted, disturbed or doubtful? Who hasn’t mocked the glossy pages, wondering how in the hell did this get published and if the editors or writers actually tried those 50 things to do without your hands (if you know what we mean)? Lie #1: Cosmo is a girl’s Bible.  READ MORE
