5 Reasons I’m Ready for this Semester to be Over

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

This semester has felt twice as long as fall 2017. Classes dragged on, the weather was bad and my motivation to stay on top of my classes are dwindling. It really felt like this semester was never going to end. I started this semester with as much motivation as one could get, but it soon began to falter when exams, projects and papers picked up. Now with finals ahead of us, I have even more things to worry about, but these five things are what’s motivating me to finish the semester strong.

  1. Weather

With Northeast Ohio, you can never predict the weather. At one point, I thought that it was never going to get warm. Now that the weather is finally feeling like spring, I can’t wait for summer. This winter dragged on forever and I think it made this semester feeling longer than the last. Although I’ll have to say goodbye to my friends for the summer, I know that soon I can pack up all of my jackets and break out all of my dresses.

  1. Going to the beach

One of my favorite things to do over the summer is to go to the beach. With the semester coming to the end, thinking about the beach is helping me get through finals. Knowing that at the end of the week I no longer have to think about deadlines and assignments, and can spend my days at the beach, is my biggest motivation.

  1. Baseball games

Anyone who knows me, knows that baseball is my favorite sport and with the start of spring comes the start of baseball season. I’m excited for all of the games I’m going to this summer with my friends and just watching the games on t.v. Even for those who don’t love baseball, I still think it’s a great summer activity.

  1. Home cooked meals

I’ve never missed home cooked meals than I have this past semester. I haven’t been home since January and the thought of going home, seeing my parents, and eating food that isn’t campus without breaking the bank is reason enough to get through finals. When I get home, I’m going to map out all of the places I want to eat this summer so that I can stock up on good food while I can.

  1. Working out

One thing that I never had the time to do this past semester was work out. Because of my classes and my job, working out took the backseat this semester. When I get home, I’m excited to start going to spin classes again and taking care of my health.

The ending of a school year is always bittersweet. I’m sad to say goodbye to my friends for the summer, but I’m grateful for the memories that I have and everything I have learned.
