Yep, it’s finally time to get into that Christmas spirit! I know I’ll be busy binging Hallmark Christmas movies and eating cookies, but besides the festivities I love to sit down and read a novel or two. Many people neglect reading but it’s a great stress reliever and you can be teleported to another place much better than yours. Here are five book suggestions that you should (at least try to) read over Christmas break.

1. Once and For All

by Sarah Dessen

Louna has worked for her mother’s wedding planning company for as many summers as she can remember, she’s dealt with missing brides, controlling grooms and all the other hazards during weddings, so it makes sense why she doesn’t believe in true love. All of that might change when Ambrose comes into her life. Ambrose sees the good in everything and he’s determined to show Louna. Find out if Louna gets her past and overcomes her feelings toward love, with the help of Ambrose, of course.

2. The Cabin

by Natasha Preston

If you like a bit of romance but mysteries are your jam, then this is the perfect book for you! A group of friends decide to spend the weekend in a cabin. This is exactly what Mackenzie needs after her senior year. During a time that was supposed to be fun chance to let go, two of her friends get murdered. It has to be someone that was in the cabin, but how could one of her friends kill the others? Find out who the killer is and why they murdered the two friends in “The Cabin.”

3. This Man

by Jodi Ellen Maples

Everyone needs a smutty novel in their life. “This Man” is what I like to call a British version of “50 Shades of Grey.” A woman named Ava is an interior designer and Jesse Ward, a superior hot business owner, wants her to help him with his redecorating. After their encounter he is determined to have her. In this three-part series you can watch their love story unfold… and of course all of their super steamy sex.

4. Since You Been Gone

by Morgan Matson

This novel is all about discovering who you are and learning to grow on your own. Emily had always lived in her best friend Sloane’s shadow. When Sloane disappears and only leaves Emily with a list of things for her to do, Emily is determined to do them all in order to get her best friend back. Through her adventures Emily begins to find out who she is really is, finds a place she belongs and becomes the person she could never be when she was with Sloane.

5. The Devil Wears Prada

by Lauren Weisbereger

Calling all my fashion lovers, this is the book for you! I know we’ve all watched the movie, but everyone knows that the book is always better than the movie. Andrea Sachs, who is fresh out of college and has an extreme lack of fashion sense lands every girl’s dream job as an assistant to Miranda Preistly, the Editor in Chief of Runway Magazine. Find out what becomes of Andrea and her adventures in the novel.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
