How to Survive Midterms

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Juniata chapter.

As midterms rapidly approach, every student at Juniata College is busy studying. Some are busy doing writing assignments for midterms, others are busy studying for the exams. As a JC student, I am also busy with my midterms. During these recent weeks, I have not been getting enough sleep. I don’t even have time to eat meals with a group of friends at the college’s cafeteria. We are all preparing for our exams. Even during this busy time, I am still suffering from homesickness. Unbelievable, right? However, it is what it is.

Here is a photo of our Juniatians studying hard for the midterms in the Beeghly Library.

As you know, the nearer the exam, the more nervous students are. In these most precious times that will define our GPAs, here are some tips for you to reduce your nervousness and help you survive through your midterms.

1.    Plan ahead of time. Don’t procrastinate.

2.   Prioritize: do the important thing first. Prioritize.

3.   Sleep well.

4.   Eat well.

5.    Don’t get yourself distracted with anything. We cannot afford to waste our time with anything other than studying, although I am doing that right now!

6.   No relationship drama.

7.   No homesickness.

8.   No social media. Spend less time using social media, such as Facebook and Twitter.

9.   Instead of going out, spend more time studying on Fridays and weekend nights. Study, study and keep studying. Nothing is as important as studying right now!

We can sleep as much as we want after college, we can do whatever we want after college, and we only have four years of college! Therefore, cherish your college life by studying hard and enjoying yourselves. Good luck with your exams and enjoy Spring!

I am from Myanmar. I am studying Business Management with a concentration on Communication here at the Juniata College. I can speak three languages: Myanmar, English and Chinese. I like to talk to people; make friends with people.
