Transitioning Your Wardrobe for Warmer Weather

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

Are you excited that the weather is warming up, but confused on what to wear every day? Are you stuck between shorts and your go-to boot and legging combo? Well, not to worry, here is your guide to seamlessly transition your winter wardrobe into a spring sensation!

Rolled-Up Denim

Take off those boots and bring your jeans into spring by rolling them up a few times. Super trendy and, pretty much, the easiest trick in the book.

Leggings + Jean Jacket

Still want to rock those leggings? Totally fine! Just throw on a basic tee and a jean jacket and you’re ready to go.

Cozy Cardigans + Flowy Spring Top

Who says you have to pack away those chunky cardigans? Spring-ify them by pairing them with a cute patterned tank with spring colors.

Flannel + Keds

That’s right, flannels in the spring. Matched with Keds, flannels are the perfect spring staple.

Long Sleeves + Baseball Hat

Keep rocking those long sleeves all spring long. Simply add a cute baseball hat and you’re set.

Add Sandals

The sun is out, and so are your perfectly polished toes. Swap out the chunky shoes for a cute sandal to make any outfit transform from winter to spring.

Swap Out Ear Warmers for Headbands

Can you hear that?… Oh wait no you can’t because of those bulky ear warmers. Time to put them away and opt for a cute headband for a nice spring touch.

Swap Out Light Colored Jackets

Say goodbye to bubble coats and fur hoods. Your new go-to is a light colored jacket–perfect for transitioning your wardrobe.

Add Bright Accessories

Never underestimate the power of a bright accessory. Used properly, this can easily take a winter outfit and make it look like it was made for spring. Go experiment!
