With only three weeks left of the semester, the time is going to fly by incredibly fast and exams will be here as soon as your know it. As a senior, I have been through my fair share of exam weeks and they never really get any easier—sorry to disappoint.

However, I have found that talking about finals doesn’t make anything better. It is easy to get caught up in the frenzy of over packed libraries and lines-out-the-door in Starbucks, but having competitions with each other to find out who has the worst exam schedule is just wasting time. By staying on track and not focusing on others, getting ready for your exams will be surprisingly easier.

Prioritizing and not getting overwhelmed is key.  By taking everything day-by-day and focusing on the end of the week, the exams will go by in no time!  There are also other ways to stay calm, such as taking mini breaks to go exercising or finding time for relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation.  Don’t feel like you have to study for 12 hours straight!  We all need to take a break to eat so catch up with a friend and spend an hour away from the books, when you get back to the library you will feel more alert.

Everyone is different and there are various ways to study such as note
cards, typing up notes, or even creating mnemonic devices.
Find the best way that works for you and use it to your advantage!
By splitting up your time and trying your hardest to stay off Facebook and Twitter, you can focus more effectively and study your material to your fullest!  Side note: the best studying breaks consist of reading HerCampus articles :)

Good Luck!
