Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA: Get Involved!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

If you’re looking to get community service hours or just simply love animals, the Harrisonburg/Rockingham SPCA is the perfect place to go! It’s only about 10 minutes away from campus and they are always looking for volunteers! All you need to do is go to their website at http://www.rhspca.org/index.html, click on the volunteer link, and fill out a quick application. There is also a mandatory two hour training session, and the dates and times for the next one coming up are also online. Volunteer positions include working with the dogs on behavior management, taking the dogs on walks, and being a CAT CUDDLER! You heard that right, you get to cuddle with cats and kittens (or small animals like guinea pigs and rabbits!). What could be better?!

Be sure to like them on Facebook and Instagram!

I was born in Troy, OH and grew up in both Kings Mountain, NC and Richmond, VA. I am the oldest child, the only blonde in my immediate family, and the only one who has 20/20 vision.
