7 Reasons You Need to Vote on Tuesday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

If you’re contemplating voting on Tuesday or aren’t planning on voting at all, your thought process needs to change — fast. Here are seven reasons why you need to vote on Election Day.

1.  Women fought for 80 years for the right to vote.

Yes, we’re serious.

2. You have the right—so why not use it?

3. You’re going to end up with someone as the next president.

Why would you want to let everyone else choose for you?

4. If you don’t vote, it’s possible a racist reality TV star could be our next president.

5. This is the first time a woman holds one of the major political parties.

6. If you don’t vote, you won’t be able to complain for the next four years.

7. Your vote matters.

If people tell you it doesn’t, they’re wrong.
