Love at First Flight: A Couple’s Guide to Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.

The Blue Jay Way to Soar Through Relationships.

Hoping to impress your significant other this Valentine’s Day but keep finding yourself at a loss of romantic ideas? Running out of time before that fateful 14th of February?

Now sadly not all of us have the vocal capability to serenade the ones we love nor do we possess the artistic talent to paint an original work for that special someone. But with a little ingenuity, creativity, and confidence, you can make this Valentine’s Day the best one yet for both you and your significant other.

1)    Got a lover with a sweet tooth? Spontaneously send him or her a personalized cookie cake from Insomnia Cookies!

2)    Share a plate of spaghetti at the FFC together (Lady & the Tramp style of course).

3)    Venture to the President’s Garden at midnight and share your first Valentine’s Day kiss together under the stars.

4)    Spend the day in Hampden and share a large Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel sundae!

5)    Buy a dozen roses and have each of your friends deliver your significant other one rose at random times throughout the day (i.e. after classes, before lunch, studying in Brody!)

6)    Nice weather? Take a stroll together in Wyman Park or in the BMA Sculpture Garden.

7)    Go to the Inner Harbor and spend the day at the aquarium! Afterwards, treat your significant other to a fancy and delicious new restaurant.

Valentine’s Day is all about spending time with those who matter most in this world. Show your love, share your love, and never forget to remind that special person just how amazing he or she truly is.
