Katie Park: Awesome Person

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.

Katie Park is a sophomore at JHU who I have the pleasure of taking a class with.  She is funny, super smart, and overall a great person!

  1. Name: Katie Park

  2. Major: Economics and International Studies

  3. Hometown: Old Tappan, NJ

  4. Affiliated With: Alpha Phi

  5. You can usually find me: Unfortunately in the library

  6. My favorite part about Hopkins is: it’s a medium sized school and I find that there’s a good balance between academic and social life, a work hard, play hard mindset

  7. In five years I will be: hopefully I’ll have a dream job in New York City!

  8. One thing most people don’t know about me: I’m a third degree black belt

  9. My favorite place on campus: The Beach on a really nice sunny day!

  10. Do you have any advice for incoming freshmen: to be open to trying new things and to not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone! Don’t feel pressured to figure out your major right away or feel like you need to have your life path decided because you have so much time to figure everything out.  I came into Hopkins as pre-med, and now I’m an economics and international studies major, and there are so many new clubs and activities that I’m a part of now that I would never have imagined joining.  There are so many opportunities in college to find your passions and pursue your interests, so don’t be afraid to try new things!
