Now, say what you will about luxury makeup, but some brands really know how to do it. My stance on luxury makeup is as follows. If I’m going to spend $100+ on something called “Magic Cream” (which I didn’t), then it better be damn good. While I usually discuss drugstore/affordable makeup options that work just as well as higher end brands from Sephora, I thought I could feature one of my favorite luxury brands this week. Disclaimer: these products are so expensive its extra, yes. So if you find this to be a colossal waste of time and money, feel free to not read on, and don’t kill my vibe.

Charlotte Tilbury is one of those luxury makeup brands that is only sold in department stores and is utterly unattainable on a college budget, yet completely addictive once you get a few products. It’s notorious for having impeccable packaging and lipsticks named after celebrities that the brand creator worked with. All of the products I have from this brand are from a gift set (the price of which I’m unsure) generously given to me this Christmas from my mother. Disclaimer #2: my mother has better style than I do and is more ‘with it’ than I’ll ever be, especially when it comes to makeup. Here are the products I have and love!

K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick (Penelope Pink): I’m fairly sure this is one of my favorite lipsticks of all time. The rose gold packaging makes me feel glamorous and this color (which I believe is named after Penelope Cruz), is such a beautiful light nude color, I can wear it everyday. Usually these are sold for $34, so yes a splurge, but by far my favorite product in the brand’s line. I’ve also received free samples of the peachy color Kim KW (named after Kim K of course) and the bright pink electric poppy, which are both gorg colors.

Cheek to Chic  Swish & Pop Blusher (Ecstasy): These blushes are a really creative product because on the outside is one shade, with a brighter pop of pink in the center. The outer color is meant to be ‘swished’ on the cheekbone while the center shade is meant to add a ‘pop’ of color to the apple of the cheek. I love this blush and wear it everyday because it has a subtle sheen and doesn’t pile on too pink. I would definitely recommend as you basically get two colors in one ($40).

The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette: This is a small palette with four shades (prime, enhance, pop, smoke) and has a great neutral (warm toned) color scheme. One shade is very glittery while the others are more metallic. But they’re such pretty colors (maybe not worth the splurge of $53).

Full Fat Lashes Mascara: While the wand on this mascara is very good (lots of fine bristles), I haven’t been using it particularly much. I would say it’s a great standard mascara for a lighter eye look. It’s slightly more expensive than other high end mascara ($29) but one of the more affordable eye products.

Lip Cheat Re-shape and Resize Lip Pencil (Pillow Talk): This is a super pretty pink color that can be worn all over the lips for a soft look. The formula is really great and isn’t too creamy but still matte and pigmented.

The Feline Flick Eyeliner  ($30): I’ve been using this black liquid liner everyday! Its super long lasting and easy to apply. I’m not sure if I would set it apart from from a lot of other similar liners but definitely a great product.
