7 Alternate Ways to Get Around Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.

Thanks to the ancient buildings that compose Keyser Quad, we have the wonderful pleasure of seeing our beautiful quad studded with construction vehicles and equipment. This poses a great inconvenience for Lighting of the Quads, chilling on the grass between classes, and various other activities and pastimes that happen on this central quad. Since nearly the entire quad has been blocked off, we decided that we’d compile a list of alternate ways to get around campus, faster than the routes that they laid out for us.

  1. Bungee jump: The main issue with the construction is that it blocks off the Breezeway and corresponding stairs that get you down from Keyser onto Wyman Quad. The easiest way to fix this is to just jump down. A bungee jump should be installed there to allow us to hop down much faster.
  2. Rappelling system: Similarly, an abseil system could work instead of a bungee jump. Think of how fun it would be!
  3. Hoverboard: Hop onto a hoverboard to float down.
  4. Escalator: Hopkins should really just install an escalator there. One up and one down; when you’re to`o exhausted to climb stairs, you can just stand there and let it do the work for you.
  5. Slide: Slides were always the greatest part of a playground and think of how much time you’ll save going down. Need to get back up? Well that’s not my problem but you could always climb back up the slide like you used to do when you were young…
  6. Crash pad: If there was big enough crash pad, you could probably take your chances and jump down.
  7. Great Eagles: My fellow Lord of the Rings/Hobbit fans will know what I’m talking about.
