Smoothie Recipes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

Summer is fast approaching and as the weather heats up it’s time to break out the blender to help beat the heat! Here are some fast and easy recipes to help you get started.

1. An easy trick I learned from my grandpa is to buy frozen fruit so you don’t have to worry about ice cubes. I get a bag of frozen strawberries and mix it with fresh pineapple, orange juice, and strawberry yogurt. It’s easy and delicious!

2. Another great recipe is one I got from my mom. Growing up, the first day of school she always made us smoothies. My favorite was made with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and some chocolate chips! It’s a great mix of fresh fruit with a little bit of tasty chocolate.

3. Another recipe from my mom, is for the over 21 club. You just throw in any fruit you want with a splash of champagne! It’s a smoothie with twist to add some class!

These next two come from the wonderful world of Pinterest and I can’t wait to try them out this summer!

4. I have always loved strawberry lemonade, so this smoothie made with frozen strawberries, lemon juice, sugar, and vanilla yogurt sounds perfect for a hot summer’s day! I might even try and make it into popsicles!  Recipe: http://damndelicious.net/2015/08/24/strawberry-lemonade-smoothie/

5. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a big pineapple lover! This recipe calls for pineapple, orange slices, a banana, and almond milk! It’s a fun citrus smoothie perfect for your morning! Recipe: http://cleaneatsfastfeets.com/2015/12/04/easy-breezy-tropical-orange-smoothie-recipe/
