Your High School

Most people hope to never relive or return to their high school. Despite these many less-than-awesome memories, it might be a good idea to email your counseling department and ask about any high-school-specified scholarships. There are a great number of such funds waiting around for needy college students to discover. And, who knows, you may not even need to write an essay!

Your Major Department

For each major, there is a department office. Take a trip over and say hello to the chair and various other administrators. Not only will this assist you in the long run for networking, but these people will also be able to alert you to any department-specified scholarships, internships, or learning opportunities. These are some of the most important connections you will have during your time at college!

Your Academic Advisor

In case your department is a bust, know that there is always your advisor. They are committed to assisting you through your further education. Having been in your shoes before, they may also be able to let you know about some specific programs in which you can participate or those much –needed scholarships.

Scholarships.com

Sometimes, the old fashioned way of email and call doesn’t work.

What do we modern people do? We Google. Not only is this website free, but it will also match the scholarship to you! No more endless requirement paragraphs or GPA woes! Your next scholarship might be just a Google away.

Fastweb.com

Although less obvious, Fastweb does a marvelous and in-depth job of matching scholarships and people. To get started, take their survey! Next, apply to scholarships! It is really that easy and also doesn’t cost money! Try it.
