IUP’s very own Fashion Association threw an amazing fashion on Friday, October 16th. There were five sections of the show: New York Style, BOHO, Tomboy, Pastels and Grunge. The members of the association had to decide what clothes were going to fit under the criteria and the music that would be playing in the background. Within in the span of a few weeks or a month, they planned and organized a fabulous fashion show that drew students, professors and families.
I had the honor of participating in this event. I was approached by the president of the club and a friend of mine, Danielle Boyer, who asked me and my friends to model in the show for her. We accepted quickly because I think fashion shows are cool things to watch and participating would be just as fun. I was approached last year, but family issues could not allow me to participate so I wanted to make it up to her this year! I intended the meetings and went to each group to see if they needed me to model. I left my contact information with a few groups who needed models and also left them my shirt, pants and shoe size.
After going to the meetings and seeing what I was going to model, the day of arrives. I do my hair and makeup and try on the clothes to make sure they fit and look good on me. We had two practice runs and the show was about to start. The music was amazing, the crowd was attentive and taking pictures and we were all having a grand ‘ol time! Be on the lookout for the Fashion Association’s clothes swap and their next fashion show! Stay beautiful ladies!
