How to Dress for Your Body Type- No, but Seriously- The Apple

Ladies, I hope that you enjoyed the first part of How to Dress for Your Body Type, in which I focused on the pear body shape.  Through your fabulous suggestions on FB (snaps for you), for Part 2, I will focus on the apple body shape. 

Hello my SEXY apples! Once again, I will break down three different looks, including:

1)      casual to class

2)      work it out, lazy girl

3)      night on the town

APPLE

 

1) If you are a sexy apple, you most likely have lean legs.  What better way to show those stems off than a cute pair of dark wash jeans and an ADORABLE v-neck tee for class.  Throw on a cardi, flats and accessories and you’re set to go for this spring!  As an apple, dark wash flared denim will flatter you the most!  Why? 3) Lastly, after you sweat off that buffalo chicken pizza you had for lunch in your new SEXY workout pants, and are getting ready for a night with your girls; mix things up, and try something new.  For apples, one piece of advice I can give is to try and elongate your torso.  Also, add a waist pinching belt to create a slenderific look.  One way you can do this is to wear a shorter skirt with a cute belt.  This skirt from H&M has an awesome print and is only $15!  Uhm hello!?  Cha-ching.  Then, find a super cute belt for less than $8 at every college girl’s FAVE store—Forever 21.  Pair with black heels and a black long sleeve shirt and, my lovely apples, you are ready to go!

Dos and Don’ts from the Professionals

If you have an apple-shaped body, like Jennifer Hudson’s, then you want to elongate your midsection and create the illusion of a smaller waist.

  • DO go for monochromatic looks.
  • DO go for v-neck tops to create the illusion of a longer torso.
  • DO wear a bra that offers good lift and support.
  • DO wear belts at the smallest part of your waist.
  • DO conceal tummy bulge by wearing empire tops and dresses.
  • DO wear boot cut and flared jeans to create an even line from the shoulders down.
  • DO wear shorter skirts to show off your legs and draw attention away from your midsection.
