Five Vegetarian Thanksgiving Recipes to Try

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IUP chapter.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means most people are thinking about turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. However some families, like my own, will be celebrating Thanksgiving with some vegetarian dishes, but that doesn’t mean it will ruin Thanksgiving. Here are some vegetarian recipes that will meet people’s Thanksgiving expectations.

  1. Tofu Turkey Roast – What is Thanksgiving without turkey? Although I haven’t tried it yet, this looks really good. Tofu is a great source of protein for vegetarians too! Recipe found here!
  2. Crock-pot Vegetarian Stuffing –One of the best parts about Thanksgiving food, for me at least, is the stuffing. This recipe not only looks amazing, but tastes great too. Recipe found here!
  3. Vegetarian Onion Gravy – What is mashed potatoes without gravy? This recipe will help potato lovers out there in their quest to finding the perfect vegetarian and vegan gravy recipe. Recipe found here!
  4. Corn Casserole – Many Thanksgiving dinners have casseroles and it is one of my favorites. Pioneer Woman, who makes this recipe, does a phenomenal job at this, so I recommend trying it. Recipe found here!
  5. Mini Pumpkin Pies – Who can forget about dessert, the best part about Thanksgiving? Not only do they last a long time after Thanksgiving, but they are also adorable looking! Recipe found here!
