College boys. They’re a lot different than high school boys, that’s for sure. Now IU is a huge school with a very diverse population of the male specimen. We at HCIU thought it would be a good idea to give y’all a fair warning of the four typical guys you’ll meet in college. Trust us, you’ll definitely meet hybrids of these four.
Warning: this will be a very stereotypical article, but we here at HCIU love all different kinds of men, from the frat star, to the hipster, the gym rat, to your best guy friend.
The Frat Star: It’s known that Greek Life is very big at Indiana, so you will definitely meet multiple frat stars in your future. Usually, these men wear backwards hats from Ralph Lauren Polo or Vineyard Vines along with their frat’s letters or a nice button down with colored shorts (chubbies anyone?) and Sperry’s. Now, this is a very stereotypical way to describe this specimen, but most of the time it’s true. Frat stars go to class during the week, and party hard during the weekend. Careful ladies: most of these men do not want a commitment so don’t get your heart set on falling in love with a frat star.
The Hipster: You will NOT find this guy in a frat. Hipsters can be found all over campus from Jacobs Music School to SPEA wearing ironic t-shirts or zip up hoodies with skinny jeans or corduroys, and shoes like Doc Martens or vans, and sometimes they’ll wear thick-rimmed glasses. Some like to long board to class, so careful walking along Jordan. Hipsters tend to go to house parties where cigarettes and weed is the norm, and no one drinks to get super drunk. Usually hipsters are really nice people that do not want to be mainstream. We love this alternative style.
The Gym Rat: You will 100% find this guy at the SRSC every day of the week, and sometimes twice a day. These guys are set on having sick, muscular bodies that aren’t bad to look at. Ladies, you won’t find these guys upstairs at the SRSC, but downstairs in the weight room. Most gym rats wear cut off tanks and sports shorts with sneakers, of course. Now not only is it nice to look at these guys, it’s the dedication of having an awesome body that’s adorable.
Your Best Guy Friend: Don’t lie, we all have them. They’re the guys that you just love to love…in a friendly way. These guys can be classified as any of the men described above. Just be careful ladies, these guys don’t always want to be your best friend, so try not to lead them on too much. We all need someone to depend upon to make our days a little brighter, and these guys can help you with that. Just don’t take them for granted.
