Celebrity Halloween Costumes of 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ithaca chapter.

Halloween seemed to go as quickly as it came, but we’re still obsessed with the creative (and not so creative) costumes we saw this year. Some celebrities absolutely killed it, while others left us asking…why would you think that was a good idea?

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna

The reality show stars decided to follow a route that was popular among college kids this year and dressed as characters from the Purge: Election Year.

Lena Dunham

The Girls star decided to poke fun at presidential candidate Donald Trump’s most recent scandal and went as a “grabbed p***y”.

Nick Lachey & family

The star got into the full spirit of Halloween with his kids by dressing up as the characters from the Disney movie Frozen.

Bethenny Frankel

The celeb took the sorority girl staple costume to the next level with a leopard body suit and matching mask & heels.

Beyoncè, Jay-Z & Blue Ivy

While Beyoncè and Blue Ivy had dressed as Salt-N-Peppa for one night of festivities, they made it a family affair when Jay-Z accompanied them on Halloween as the Black Ken to Beyoncè’s Black Barbie.

Lindsay Lohan

Lohan stepped out in another college girl favorite this year, Harley Quinn from DC Comics and the new movie Suicide Squad.

Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick & family

Although we didn’t get to see Kim Kardashian’s rumored Amber Rose costume this year (Kim is still recovering from her assault in Paris and hasn’t been out in public much at all), we did get to see a family costume from her sister and ex Scott Disick.

Hilary Duff & Jason Walsh

Every year, celebrities seem to sneak a racial insensitive costume past their publicists, and this year was no exception. Duff and her boyfriend dressed up as a pilgrim and Native American chief. The costume shocked her fans, and many wondering how she could be so insensitive especially during the ongoing Dakota Pipeline protests. Duff has since apologized for the costume choice.
