Mom’s Weekend Flower Show

Every mom loves flowers! So why not take her to a flower show? The Horticulture Club is hosting its annual Flower Show on Mom’s Weekend. Groups of students have been preparing for this event by designing and implementing a garden. Spring has finally sprung and you can see all of their beautiful arrays of flowers this Saturday. Half of the flowers are reserved by the Horticulture Club Growers, which they will sell at very reasonable prices. Your family can take flowers home with you too! Mom’s Weekend Musical: Chicago

This spring’s musical is Chicago. The content for this show is considered adult in nature, so younger siblings might not be able to join you and your mom for this one. There are only 500 tickets available per show, so make sure to get them quick! Tickets to the event are open to the public for $18 at the door or $15 if you pre-order. Illinois Rip Chords Spring Show: Keeping up with the Khordashians

The perfect performance to show your mom: An acapella show on Saturday night. This year, the Illinois Rip Chords have prepared a show themed “Keeping up with the Khordashians,” a comical spin-off of the show Keeping up with the Kardashians. They will show a funny video they created before they begin singing, so be sure not to miss it. You can find more information about the acapella group on their website.

Tickets to the show are $5 for students and $7 for adults if you purchase them on the quad through April 8th. Tickets at the door will be $7 for students and $10 for adults. Who knows, maybe if you’re lucky they can sing a ballad for you!

Illini Veterans Memorial

If you’re feeling active with your mom, register for a 5K run! On Sunday, April 10th is the 4th Annual Illini Veterans Memorial 5K. You can run with your mom for a great cause. All money donations go towards supporting wounded armed forces veterans for the Center for Wounded Veterans Higher Education.

Registration for the event begins at 8 am. Signing up for the 5k is only $35 and students only pay $25. Further information is available on their website.

Mom’s Day Craft Fair

  • 10 am – 5 pm

The Illini Union Board is hosting its annual craft fair at the Illini Union on Mom’s Weekend. There will be dozens of vendors with different booths full of fun crafts available for purchase. There will be Moms Association Cookbooks and t-shirts for sale. There will also be ticket drawings for scholarships. All Moms Association proceeds support University of Illinois students and parents.
