The new Crystal Light candy you won’t want to miss!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

I’ve never been one for hard candy. Anything and everything chocolate has always been my kryptonite. I’d eat a Twix or Hershey bar any day over a bag of Skittles or Runts (remember those??).

But the world as I know it – or at least my world of candy preferences – was turned upside down last week when I popped a Crystal Light Hard Candy into my mouth. For a second, I thought I had take a sip of a Crystal Light drink. But no, the solid candy in my mouth was proof enough – a candy that captured the taste of a drink so perfectly. Perhaps I’ve found a new guilty pleasure…

Only I realized I shouldn’t feel that guilty at all. While these Crystal Light inspired candies are, in fact, candy, you don’t have to bear the burden of the guilt that usually ensues when eating candy. They’re sugar free and sweetened with Splenda! Usually sugar free candy is a sad excuse for a sweet treat, but somehow, the Crystal Light Hard Candy is able to satisfy that sweet tooth.

With a variety of fruit flavors (cherry, orange, strawberry, raspberry and lemonade/pink lemonade), there’s a Crystal Light Hard Candy for every craving.

All this making you salivate a bit? Then head to the local WalMart where you can buy a package of Crystal Light Hard Candy for only $1.24!

Lucky for you, Her Campus is hosting the “LIGHTen Up Sweepstakes” that will award one winner from various branches to receive: a $500 WalMart giftcard and assorted products and goodies from Crystal Light!

Emily Cleary is a 22-year-old news-editorial journalism major hoping to work in the fashion industry, whether that be in editorial, marketing, PR or event planning is TBD. With internships at Teen Vogue and StyleChicago.com, it's clear that she is a fashion fanatic. When she's not studying (she's the former VP of her sorority, Delta Delta Delta), writing for various publications or attending meetings for clubs like Business Careers in Entertainment Club, Society of Professional Journalists, The Business of Fashion Club, or for her role as the Assistant Editor of the Arts & Entertainment section of her school's magazine, she's doing something else; you will never find her sitting still. She loves: running (you know those crazy cross-country runners...), attending concerts and music festivals, shopping (of course), hanging out with friends, visiting her family at home, traveling (she studied abroad in London when she was able to travel all over Europe), taking pictures, tweeting, reading stacks and stacks of magazines and newspapers while drinking a Starbuck's caramel light frappacino, blogs and the occasional blogging, eating anything chocolate and conjuring up her next big project. Living just 20 minutes outside of Chicago, she's excited to live there after graduation, but would love to spend some time in New York, LA, London or Paris (she speaks French)!
