7 Things to Help You Celebrate Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Whether you’ve been studying away at the UGL or soaking up the sun on the quad, what you’ve been waiting for all year is almost here: summer! There’s something special about a new season, especially summer. As we say goodbye to Champaign and reflect on all we accomplished this school year, the three month break allows us to try all of the things we didn’t have time for during the school year. Whether you’re graduating and getting ready to embrace the “real world,” preparing to jet set across the world and enjoy your time off abroad, feeling pumped to start your dream internship or desperately waiting for some relaxation time by the pool, summer is a time for celebrating. Luckily, our Her Campus Illinois team received a shipment of goodies to inspire us to be our best selves and make this the best summer yet! Read below to see how we’re celebrating summer in style.

Speaking of style, one of the best ways to ring in the warm summer months is with a new wardrobe. Other than helping us stay dry with the cute pink ponchos, boohoo sent us their latest #WeAreUSA magazines. We love that the #WeAreUSA campaign is all about being unapologetically you. Being yourself is always in style (and made easier with beautiful summer tans)!

While you’re wearing new clothes, give the hottest new beauty trend, Blink Tattoos a try. These metallic, temporary tattoos will have you shining all summer long.

As long as you’re looking good, you might as well feel good too. Nothing says #CelebrateYourself like getting in shape for summer. With a free online 30-day Crunch Live membership, you get access to 70+ workouts based on Crunch’s most popular classes. Crunch offers an authentic online gym experience with real instructors leading the classes.

One step to embracing your best self is spending smartly. Here’s where Nicole Lapin’s “Rich Bitch:A Simple 12-Step Plan for Getting Your Financial  Life Together … Finally” and Chipotle BOGO free cards come in. Lapin firmly believes that you should be confident enough to celebrate your finances, instead of nickel-and-diming yourself. Every piece of financial advice you’ve ever heard is covered and Lapin offers her own fresh, modern (and sassy!) wisdom on them all. And everyone knows that a Chipotle deal is both food for the stomach and soul.

Another way to be your best you is to work your butt off. Chloe + Isabel is a fashion jewelry brand that’s devoted to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs through social retail. The c+i GEM program sets up college students for career success by offering real-world marketing, merchandising and social media skills. Plus, you can enjoy discounted jewelry and other program perks! You can learn more and submit your application here.

Finally, while you’re celebrating yourself and preparing for an amazing summer, help an underclassmen learn how to have the best years of her life. “The Her Campus Guide To College Life” covers everything from advice for getting along with your roommates, to dealing with tough professors and deciding whether or not to study abroad. It makes the perfect gift for your little or favorite incoming freshman.
