With homecoming this weekend, it’s only natural to think about all of the alumni making their return to Champaign. And how bad they all must feel because they’re not in college anymore. So sit back, relax and rejoice because at least you’re not experiencing any of these thoughts that alumni are.
1. Why can’t my morning commute still be a quick ride on the 22N instead of endless traffic jams?
2. Did I really used to go out seven nights a week? More importantly, WHY CAN’T I STILL DO THAT? Actually, on second thought, I couldn’t still do that …
3. Turns out a furnished apartment with four bedrooms for $2,200 a month in the real world DOESN’T EXIST.
4. Going to class is better than sitting at a desk all day … even if the subject is impossible.
5. Did KAM’S actually smell that bad when I went here?!
6. I probably should have utilized my free membership to the ARC more often …
7. Why can’t every Mexican restaurant be as delicious as Maize or every pizza place as tasty as Second Story?
8. Unofficial is a better party than St. Patrick’s Day will ever be.
9. How is it possible for the weather here to go from 75 and sunny to 43 and rainy in one day?
10. Fall just doesn’t feel like fall if it’s not spent getting drunk in a barn and dancing like a fool to country music.
11. The saying “win or lose, we still booze” should be applied to everything in life, not just block.
12. The amount of times IllinoisNet and UIUCNet crash in a day sets you up for disappointment in the real world.
13. There’s still nothing better than a lazy afternoon on the Quad.
14. One thing never changes; the University of Illinois is the best school in the world and I miss it almost every day!
