What to Wear: Winter Activities

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois State chapter.

The temperature is dropping, Christmas music’s being played just about anywhere you go and snow is in the air. All of these things signal that the Holiday Season is well upon us. All kinds of winter activities will be in full swing and your wardrobe needs to be prepared. Trying to find that perfect outfit for a specific activity can definitely be frustrating at times. Here’s a few ideas to make sure you always look stylin’ no matter what you’re up to this winter:

Ice Skating

Ice Skating is the perfect time to break out your cute winter parka. It’s long and cozy, so it’ll be sure to keep you warm. Add a matching hat and scarf combo in your favorite color to show your personality and you’re set!

Holiday Party

To me, there is no such thing as overdressed. Use holiday parties as an excuse to dress fancy and feel good. A velvet dress with sparkly accessories is a great way to stand out while still looking festive. Also, try a calf-length skirt with a sweater tucked in. Add some booties to match and you have another trendy option.

Movie Night

Try an oversized sweater and trendy leggings if you’re staying in with friends to have a movie night. This way you can be comfy, but still look cute. Make this look a little different by wearing leather or printed leggings.

Dinner Party

While a dinner party may not be as fancy as a holiday party, you can still look your best. Try a colored blouse, paired with a faux fur vest. Faux fur is slowly making it’s way back around, so it’s a nice addition to any outfit. Add some statement earrings and you’re good to go!

With these few ideas, hopefully you’ll be going out in style this winter season!
