We’ve heard it all– Pot, Mary Jane, Cannabis, Kush– there are so many names of this plant that it’s hard to keep up with them. Besides the names, do you think you know all there is to know about weed? Take a peek at this list, I bet you’ll say to yourself “I didn’t know that!”

Stoned mind, sober thoughts.
Weed was once used as a “Truth Serum” in 1942 by the Office of Strategic Services to question spies and prisoners of war. They used it to lower inhibitions and judgments’ from the captives as to get information from them. What happened to the polygraph??

Presidents are no strangers to weed.
Bill Clinton has said before that he smoked marijuana but “never inhaled”. While George Bush has never admitted to taking the drug, his use has been suggested in conversations between him and his friend. President Obama has said “When I was a kid, I inhaled frequently. That was the point.”

It wasn’t illegal then.
Our Founding fathers grew weed on their farms. Enough said.

Smoking weed cures hangovers.
Well not really, you only get a hangover because the alcohol is still in your system. But depending on the effects you get from smoking, it may ease symptoms such as nausea and help you eat.

Healthy vs. Unhealthy.
Smoking weed has been shown to prevent Cancer but it can also cause it because it does damage your lungs if the use is excessive. Weed also contains 400 different chemicals, and let’s face it these chemicals will cause some problems.

Particular ways to smoke.
There are many ways to smoke weed with such as a blunt, chillum, or bong. People get really creative when they don’t have the more popular instruments to smoke with. Makeshift bongs out of alcohol bottles, water bottles, and apples can be all the craze.

Memory.
“Marijuana interferes with short-term memory so that users forget what they just said or did. Not only that, marijuana interferes with short-term memory so that users forget what they just said or did.”

Smoke and Drive.
Anti-pot groups have done studies to show that the effects of marijuana can impair your driving abilities. However, it was shown that marijuana may reduce your risks of being involved in a collision.

Celebration of 420, 4:20 or 4/20.
April 20th, otherwise commonly known as 4/20 is practically a holiday to all of those who smoke.

A sexual stimulant.
Smoking lowers your inhibitions. When your inhibitions are lowered anything practically goes, which makes you more than likely to have sex. While smoking weed affects a person differently this is one of many effects and may not happen all of the time.
