When you think of a girl always on the go, you are probably thinking of someone like Teddi Govedarica. You can find Teddi at her Redbird athletics internship, doing things for her numerous positions in Chi Omega, working at Elroy’s in Downtown Bloomington, or you know…studying. Teddi is known for her outgoing personality, beloved stuffed animals, and putting her heart and soul into everything she does.

Name: Theadora Govedarica

Age: Twenty-fun

Year in School: Junior

Major: Communications

Hometown: Carol Stream, IL

Relationship Status: @BGAMS can you give me some insight already?

Nicknames: Teddi, Ted, Teds, Teddi Bear, Grams, Suga Pie, Thea, T, Spoodie

HC: Why did you choose Illinois State?

TG:  I’ll be the honest one to admit out loud what I, along with everyone else, came here for. I chose Illinois State because I heard Bloomington-Normal has the most restaurants per capita, so basically for food. Also to get a good college education!

HC: Tell us a little about your internship with Redbird athletics.

TG: Sports has always been my passion so I knew I would love this internship. I intern for Athletic Communications – Media Relations. With this, I contribute to press releases, press conference, stats, minutes, writing articles and other game day operations. I intern mainly with women’s gymnastics, but help with men’s and women’s basketball as well.

HC: What is a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?

TG: I low key, maybe high key, legitimately have telepathy. Maybe a sixth sense too…

HC: As Chi Omega’s March Madness chairwoman, what are you most excited for at this year’s event?

TG: It’s hard to pin point just one part about this year particularly, but my favorite part every year is seeing a child on stage with his/her parent talking about their journey, and how Make-A-Wish and Chi Omega made their dream come true.

HC: What are your plans for this summer?

TG: I will be interning in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with the Cape Cod Baseball League. They are the top summer league in the country for collegiate baseball players. I will specifically be interning with the Chatham Anglers and I am so excited for this opportunity!

HC: What is your favorite pizza in BloNo?

TG: Is that a joke? Firehouse is the one place in my life I’m not ashamed to call myself a ‘regular.’ PSA they have giant $3 slices after 10pm – enjoy.

HC: What is your deepest darkest secret?

TG: I’ve had the same best friend for 18 years (S/O Bailey Andrews, love you) and all of middle school I was obsessed with her brother. When Bay and I had sleepovers we would sleep in the basement and her brother would sleep down there too… so while she was sleeping, we would hold hands. If she even made a sudden breath or quick move in her sleep, we would rip our hands apart and pretend to be sleeping. When we realized she was still sleeping, the hands reunited.

HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

TG: In 10 years, my family will be so big that we will just take over the world. I will have 50 nieces and 50 nephews, be happily married with two rugrats of my own and maybe one-two more on the way. I’ll have a successful job that I actually love and don’t dread going to. Not to mention two dogs named Bear and Blue, and maybe a bearded dragon, just for the hell of it.

HC ISU: What is your favorite memory from your time at Illinois State?

TG: Becoming a part of Greek life and meeting some of the best people in my life created a ridiculous amount of memories that I could never pick a favorite. Special shout out to the men of Sigma Chi, you’re still not losing.

HC ISU: What is your most embarrassing moment?

TG: An oldie but a goodie… In fifth grade I was “in love” with this kid Brad, and I wore a shirt that said I <3 Brad underneath my sweatshirt one too many times. In my defense it was originally bought because of Brad Pitt, but we all knew why I wore it.

To end with a bang I’ll also throw in my weirdest moment. In fourth grade, my dad slammed the car trunk on my two fingers. Fast-forward two months when my nails were bruised blue and purple and fell off. I was still so mad at him that I put them in an envelope, sealed it and wrote his name with a heart on the front. I gave them to him to remember what he did to my fingers…pay back amirite?!

Thank you for letting us interview you, Ted!
