Vibrant rays of sun hug the street just as a wondrous breeze swoops across the trees and gently sways the grasses into a shifting pattern. The buildings have a new tint to them, a natural lightly shaded filter. Smiling individuals walk and succumb to the boisterous laughter a beautiful day can bring.

I look out my window and I see beauty.

Sometimes it’s hard to see the beauty in life. Sometimes it’s hard to get out of bed in the morning. Sometimes it takes more than a simple alarm to wake up. Have you taken a moment to ponder, “Am I truly awake?” The sad truth is seldom do we awaken in the morning. Some of you are not awake right now. As individuals with active lives surrounded by work, stress, anxiety, and responsibility, we are often clouded by the excessive need to feel connected and often find ourselves submissive to going through the motions. I am guilty of it. We all are.

Wake up. Disconnect from your worries. Allow yourself to be mindful of your environment and find peace in the natural beauty that is not only found in nature, but in you. You are the only person in this world that will ever be you. There has never been anyone before you and there will never be anyone after you that is as intricately and uniquely made. With each day allow yourself to seek a newfound purpose and decompress from the whirl wind of emotions that fog you. Find joy in the people you surround yourself with in the present moment. Gain an appreciation for the beauty that is within you.

The next time you look out the window, I hope you see what I see.
