Recently, a club I participate in at HWS hosted an International Music Festival, which was a fun night with food, fun, and most importantly, international music. I’m always looking for new music, and these are some fabulous party songs (and some awesome artists) to check out to add to your own playlist, or just to explore! As I’ve learned recently, there are some amazing tunes that exist outside the U.S. and the U.K.!
Chill Party Songs:
These are the songs that you listen to as people are coming to your party, eating, and/or catching up. In my opinion, every playlist needs some starter songs so people can get integrated into the scene and “feel the vibes” of the occasion.
1. Stromae- Ave Cesaria
Everyone should listen to Stromae, by the way. (Low-key, high-key recommend Papaoutai, Alors on Danse, and Tous les Mêmes while you’re at it)!
2. Enrique Iglesias- Bailando (Spanish Version)
You guys already know this one, so try the Spanish version too!
3. If- Davido
4. Lartiste- Chocolat (feat. Awa)
5. Camila Cabello & Daddy Yankee- Havana (Remix)
Don’t be put off by the “remix” in the title; this is just the Spanish version of your fav Camila Cabello song, plus a fantastic rap by Daddy Yankee (sorry Young Thug, you just didn’t cut it). In my opinion, this is an even better song than the English version, and now I just can’t listen to the song in English anymore.
6. MIKA- Elle Me Dit
Cute, fun, light French tune? Yes, please!
7. KeBlack- Bazardée
8. L.E.J.- La dalle
This song is folksy and relatively bare, with beautiful layered vocals and a solid beat. It has a different vibe than most of the other songs, but definitely worth checking out!
9. Hvitmalt gjerde- Vil Du Holde Min Hånd?
Classic/alt rock feel with good drum beats.
Party Songs:
These are the tunes that will get everyone and their grandmothers up and dancing, the songs that are sure to bring down the house!
1. Sean Paul- Get Busy
You all know Temperature, but Sean Paul’s got another cool party song up his sleeve!
2. Spice- So Mi Like It
Good intro party song, really solid beats paired with intense, deep vocals.
3. BTS- MIC Drop (original or remix, can’t go wrong!)
This song has been sweeping the globe, so I’m sure you’ve already heard it, but if not, it’s a great party song that builds off each verse and gets even better as it goes along.
4. Badshah & Aastha- Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai
Apparently this was in a Disney movie called Khoobsurat? No idea about that, but I do know this song’s hook is off the walls.
5. BIGBANG- BANG BANG BANG
Title pretty much says it all; classic anthem jam for a great party.
6. Olatunji- Tun Fo Meh
Clapping, horns, and rhythmic beats are sure to get stuck in your head and keep you on the dance floor!
7. Stefflon Don- 16 Shots
Get out your guns and crank the volume! This song is courageous, full-powered, and a little dangerous, so make sure your bulletproof vest is strapped tight.
8. KOPERU- Matakore
A party song through and through, highly enjoyable for everyone.
