Overwhelmed and Over it

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at HPU chapter.

I hate being overwhelmed and the truth is that I am always, overwhelmed especially at this point of the semester. I AM SO OVER IT, but these are ways that I deal with all of it and keep my composure during the semester.

1. I Laugh it off

This may seem like I am crazy but tbh I laugh when new tasks get thrown my way. It is my coping mechanism, I don’t know why but it is.

2. I put over 1000 reminders on my phone

I put so many reminders in my reminder app on my phone – even when to eat, cause a girls gotta eat right? But really, I have to remind myself to do so many tasks, like going to the bank, getting Starbucks and turning in homework.

3. I lay in bed and just don’t do anything

I cope this way…I lay there and think about all the things I need to do but don’t do it. Am I the only one?

4. In denial

I just always tell myself that I am fine and I got this but let’s be real, often I have 4 assignments due, a project, midterms and a presentation and I have not started on ANY OF THEM.

5. GET IT DONE!!

Then I finally get myself together and get stuff done. I take 6 hours and just do ALL the assignments I need to do, plan out my week, set new reminders and do it all over again next week.

It is all about balance people! You can have moments of panic and freak out, but you just need to relax, set your reminders, set aside some time to work and remember that you got this!
