The 2000’s R&B Playlist You Need

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at HPU chapter.

We’ve been having a lot of rainy weather and 70 degree days in Hawai’i lately and whenever that happens there’s only one thing I feel like doing: curling up in bed with lots of blankets and good simpin’ music. The term “simpin” has a lot of definitions across the internet but most generally it’s come to mean when you’re in your feelings and embracing it (or atleast that’s the definition I like to use it for). That being said, I’ve been noticing a spike and popularity in early 2000’s R&B on social media again and boy do they bring back memories. That inspired me to bring out my old iPod nano and revisit some of my very favorite songs from nostalgic periods of my youth – when the idea of feeling something for someone for the first time was so exciting and new. In hindsight of course, I was just a kid haha.

No introductions needed for these oldies but goodies, just give them a listen and simp away.
