Fall brings to mind vivid reflections of colorful falling leaves, a warm crackling fire, and crisp cool air. But for the fashionista, fall only means one things – new shoes. Boots, booties, flats, pumps, this season has it all. The Fall 2011 runways are being trampled by an array of fabulous footwear.
Sleek Leather:
Phillip Lim featured sleek leather boots as well as pony haired-animal print ones. Both had the look of a man’s loafer. Hence, they complement a menswear look. Alexandre Birman showcased a quilted leather version as well. You can find a pair of these beauties at your local Ninewest store for $100.00 retail.
Metallic:
Alejandro Ingelmo channeled space-age style with his metallic and black leather boots. One of the standout trends for fall is metallic on shoes. Ingelmo also featured huge monochromatic gold and silver platform wedges. These silver metallic flats are said to be very spacious and quite comfy and you can find a pair of these for a very low price at Payless for $10.00.
Punk Rock:
The Alexander McQueen line has punk rock down to a science. The collection’s lace up stiletto ankle boot comes in black leather, python, and studded. They can be found for $40.00 retail at ASOS.
Chunky Heels:
Alexander Wang brought focus to the chunky heel. It is a take on a 60s/70s staple but with a modern feel. Aperlai did its chunky heels in a funky color-blocked pattern. This chunky heel can be found at bakers $120.00 retail.
Animalistic:
Brian Atwood donned his black patent leather pumps with white feathers. Jean-Michel Cazabat’s leopard print booties are drool-worthy. Bally covered its stiletto ankle boots completely in curly fur. You can check out these ‘cheetahlicious’ shoes at ShopBob retailing at $175.00.
Wedges:
Camilla Skovgaar crafted her wedges to perfection with a tough-looking ridged sole. Zoraide’s black suede platforms come complete with corset laces and some red python print. Try on these suede closed toed wedges at the Steve Madden Store for $79.95.
