4 Reasons to Join Her Campus Howard

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Howard chapter.

You’ve read our articles, you’ve attended our events, and you’ve fallen in love with our shirts. After some consideration, you’ve decided that you’re going to join Her Campus. With four days until our application deadline, here are four reasons you should join our team:

1. We’re more than just an online magazine

Not only do we have positions for aspiring journalists/writers, we have openings in our tech-savvy social media team, picture-perfect photography group, aesthetically pleasing event planning team, and money-making marketing team!

2. Lots of members = Lots of networking!

There’s over 100 of us majoring in so many fields from SOE to CNAHS to SOB. The great thing about HC is that you’ll meet so many different connects who could possibly hook you up with a cool new job or summer internship.

3. In Truth and Service, we help our community

Giving back to the community is not only in Howard’s motto, but it is super important to many of our members and is something we are aiming to do more of this semester. We have previously participated in the Homecoming Day of Service. We are currently running a sock drive, so make sure you donate any new or gently used socks in the boxes located in your dorm (AFTER you finish your application!) and join us when we package and distribute them to DC’s homeless community! Community service is a great way to get involved beyond Howard’s campus and another way to bond with the HC team!

4. We love team bonding

Last semester, we went to an early screening of Happy Death Day and took a shopping trip to Ulta with free gift cards and free Ubers! This semester, we have a lot more member-exclusive events coming up. A team that hangs out together as one, work better together!

Do you still need some convincing? Check out this thread and apply here! The application will close on January 31st.
