Wear It Wednesdays: Lace Up Flats

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

This week I’m talking about the shoe that is taking the fashion world by storm; the lace up ballet flat. This not-so-typical flat trend is not exactly new, but we’ve never seen it this popular. The trend started in spring of 2016 and It girls haven’t stopped wearing them since. Women everywhere on campus, in the work world and on the runway are wearing these shoes.

Lace up flats are more chic and professional than regualr ballet flats. With a pointed toe, the shoes can be worn virtually anywhere on any occasion. The style has been dressed up with blazers and pencil skirts or dressed down with boyfriend jeans and casual tshirts. The shoes look exspensive but you don’t have to break your budget to buy a pair. There are tons of affordable options in stores.

Don’t be a basic ballerina. Get a shoe upgrade and check out these killer flats and how to style them.
