Valentine’s Day Cocktail Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

No matter what you’re planning (or not) for this Valentine’s Day, your night can’t be bad with a Valentine’s inspired drink in your hand. Perfect for mixing up with your girlfriends, or serving to your sweetie. These dessert cocktails are perfect for all things V-day.

With Champagne– Combine pomegranate juice, really any flavored juice, pear nectar, champagne, and an orange flavored liqueur.  Strawberry and cherry flavors will satisfy the sweetest of teeth, plus it’s Valentine’s colors. No cheesecake necessary.

Chocolate Lovers drink– Pick out all of your favorite rich chocolate liqueurs! Kahlua, Crème de Cacao, or even Crème de menthe will do. Mix them together for a rich drink sure to get you chocolate wasted! Garnish the rim with a slice of strawberry.

With Flavored Vodka– Mix chocolate flavored vodka with cherry liquor for that delicious fruit and chocolate combination. Add some sparkling water if you want a fizz. It’ll taste just like a chocolate covered cherry!

With Godiva Liqueur– I’m pretty sure we can all agree that Godiva is delicious. They make a variety of decadent chocolate liqueur flavors including, dark and white chocolate, caramel and mocha. Add champagne or some strawberries to add to the flavor.

With Baileys– What goes great with Bailey’s? Coffee. Create a coffee flavored drink this valentines day and pair it with chocolate and cream for a super lux flavor.

Decorative rims for your cocktails– I recently became obsessed with flavored rims when I made apple cider sangria with a cinnamon sugar rim for Thanksgiving.Fine gold sugar mixed with: cinnamon, cocoa powder, lemon juice. You can coat the rim in melted chocolate and garnish with treats like sprinkles, cereal bits, coconut flakes, or pomegranate seeds.

I am an aspiring journalist studying at Hofstra University. My interests include, fashion, techno, and travel. Dirty chai is my favorite. I'm obsessed with red wine. And vegan ice cream is where it's at. xx
